About UPS & Our Culture

Not every UPS driver needs a brown truck. Our Personal Vehicle Driver program — known inside UPS as the PVD program — recruits independent, reliable individuals to deliver packages using their own personal car or SUV during peak demand periods. If you are searching for UPS driver jobs with your own car that offer flexible scheduling, weekly pay, and the backing of the most recognized delivery brand in the world, the PVD program is your entry point. No commercial vehicle needed, no specialized equipment required — just a clean driving record, a reliable vehicle, a smartphone, and the motivation to represent UPS at every customer's door.

What Our Team Says (Employee Reviews)

"The PVD program is perfect for my lifestyle. I pick up my package assignment from the UPS building, load my SUV, and execute a residential route on my own schedule within the day's delivery window. The per-mile reimbursement covers my fuel costs, the weekly pay hits on time every week, and using my own vehicle means I was working within days of applying. The UPS personal vehicle driver program is the fastest way I have found to start earning with UPS without waiting for a package car opening." - Current Personal Vehicle Driver, Phoenix, AZ.

Role Overview & Responsibilities

As a UPS Personal Vehicle Driver, you collect a pre-sorted package assignment from your local UPS facility, load parcels into your own vehicle, and execute a residential delivery route using the UPS delivery app — bringing the full professionalism of the UPS brand to every customer doorstep from the driver's seat of your personal car.

• Daily Package Pickup: Arrive at your assigned UPS facility at the designated start time, collect your sorted package assignment, and load parcels into your personal vehicle in the delivery sequence order recommended by the UPS routing app on your smartphone.
• Residential Route Execution: Navigate your assigned residential delivery area using the UPS driver app's turn-by-turn routing, completing each stop by scanning the package, placing it at the correct location, and photographing the placement for delivery confirmation.
• Vehicle & Appearance Standards: Maintain your personal vehicle in a clean, reliable condition and present yourself in neat, professional attire at every customer interaction — as a UPS Personal Vehicle Driver you are the UPS brand in your neighborhood.

Benefits & Perks

UPS Personal Vehicle Drivers receive competitive hourly pay, per-mile vehicle reimbursement to offset personal car operating costs, and weekly direct-deposit paychecks. Flexible scheduling allows PVD associates to set availability around existing obligations. Strong performance in the PVD role is formally recognized in UPS's internal hiring process for permanent package car driver openings — the most financially powerful outcome a UPS driver with own car role can produce.
